Fitbod and Hevy are two of the most downloaded gym apps, and they take opposite routes to the same job. Fitbod decides what you should train today. Hevy lets you decide and gets out of the way. Which one fits comes down to how much you want to think about it. Neither one touches your nutrition, which is worth knowing before you commit to either.
Fitbod: AI picks your workout
Fitbod's whole pitch is that you never plan a session. It looks at what you trained recently, what equipment you have, and which muscles are recovered, then builds today's workout for you. Handy if you want to show up and follow instructions, and genuinely useful when you are new or bored of your own programming. The trade-off is control. Experienced lifters on a specific program sometimes end up fighting the algorithm.
Hevy: you build it, it logs it
Hevy is the opposite. You build your own routines, and it is a clean, fast place to log them. Sets, reps, rest timers, PRs, a social feed. It trusts you to know your program, which is perfect if you already follow a plan and less ideal if you want to be told what to do.
The bit both leave out
Whichever you pick, your food lives somewhere else. Fitbod and Hevy are workout-only. The moment you are cutting or bulking, your training is in one app and your calories in another, and nothing connects a stalled lift to the week your intake dropped.
Rep N Prep does both sides. You can build your own routines like in Hevy, or let the coach generate a plan like Fitbod, and it logs your food in the same app, with one coach reading your training and nutrition together.

So which should you use?
Want to be told exactly what to train? Fitbod. Follow your own program and just want a clean log? Hevy. Lift and watch what you eat, and want one coach seeing both? That is Rep N Prep, and it imports your Hevy history, so switching does not reset your logbook.
Free to start. Download it here and keep your training and your food under one roof.
