A Strava alternative for people who also lift

17 July 2026 · 2 min read · Flint Port

Strava is one of the best apps ever made for runners and cyclists. Segments, routes, the social feed, the kudos. Nothing beats it for cardio. But if you also lift, Strava has a blind spot. It does not really do strength training, and it has no idea what you eat. For a lot of people that means a run tracker, a separate gym app, and a separate food app. Here is how to collapse that down.

What Strava is great at

Credit where it is due. GPS tracking is excellent, the route maps are the best around, segments turn every route into a small competition, and the community is unmatched. If running or cycling is your whole thing, keep Strava. It is hard to beat.

Where it leaves you hanging

The gaps show up the moment your training is broader than cardio:

One app for cardio and lifting

Rep N Prep tracks cardio with GPS (runs, rides and walks with a live route map, distance, pace and calories) and full strength training with sets, reps and PRs, in the same app. On top of that it logs your food, and a coach reads all of it together.

Honestly, some people keep both

If the segments and the community are why you love Strava, keep it for that. But if you are tired of logging a run in one app, your bench in another, and your food in a third, Rep N Prep puts cardio, lifting and nutrition under one coach.

Free to start. Download it here and stop spreading your training across three apps.
