Search "Hevy vs MyFitnessPal" and you hit a strange answer pretty fast. They are not really rivals. One tracks your training, the other tracks your food. They cover different halves of the same goal, which is why so many people run both at the same time. That split is the part worth fixing.
What each one does well
Hevy is a gym tracker, and a good one. You build routines, log your sets and reps, rest timers run, and your PRs are easy to find later. It is fast and it stays out of your way. What it does not do is food. No calories, no macros, no diary.
MyFitnessPal is the food side. Big product database, quick barcode scanning, a daily calorie and macro target. There is an "exercise" field, but nobody is programming their training in there.
The problem is the split
Run both and your day is spread across two apps that never talk to each other. Your squat numbers sit in one, your calories in the other. When progress stalls, neither app can tell you your lifts flattened the same week your intake dropped, because neither one sees the whole picture.
That gap is why we built Rep N Prep. One app for your training and your food, with a coach that reads them side by side.

So which one?
Only care about lifting? Hevy is a great pick. Only care about food, and the ads do not bother you? MyFitnessPal does the job. But if you are doing both, whether you are cutting, bulking, or just trying to add weight to the bar without the gut, running two disconnected apps is the slow way to do it.
You also do not have to start over. Rep N Prep imports a Hevy workout export and your MyFitnessPal food and cardio CSVs, matched on names and macros instead of internal IDs, so your history is there on day one. (More on the MyFitnessPal side in Leaving MyFitnessPal? Read this first.)
Free to start. Download Rep N Prep and stop copy-pasting between two apps.
